PROJECT WORKER
FULL TIME, FIXED TERM CONTRACT
The _Sexual Health Centre_, in partnership with Cork Local Drug &
Alcohol Task Force, is seeking an exceptional, positive individual to
join the team to undertake co-ordination for the DASH (Drugs, Alcohol,
Sexual Health) project. This pioneering project will see the roll out
of a mobile unit that will combine drugs, alcohol and sexual health
services across the Cork and Kerry region with a particular emphasis
on reaching the LGBTI+ community. This specialised adapted van will
facilitate equitable services for those living in Cork and Kerry. In
this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant
contribution to the overall strategy of the _Sexual Health Centre_.
The purpose of this particular role is to establish, co-ordinate and
develop the DASH project. The successful candidate will develop a
strategy of delivery that supports equitable access, by means of a
mobile health unit within the Cork and Kerry region, to sexual health,
drug and alcohol services to individuals and groups from vulnerable or
marginalised communities including but not limited to the LGBTI+
community and to those who may feel disconnected from society.

ideal role for you. This novel project combining the work of Cork
Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force and the Sexual Health Centre focuses
on delivering additional outreach sexual health, drug and alcohol
information and support direct to communities across Cork and Kerry.
These enhanced services to communities, delivered through an inclusive
lens will enable access to information, signposting and support to
enable behaviour change opportunities and improve outcomes for service
users with particular emphasis on the LGBTI+ community.
This is a full time, fixed term contract for six months. Applicants
will require a full clean driving licence and be available for an
immediate start.
_RESPONSIBILITIES OF YOUR ROLE WILL INCLUDE:_
Key responsibilities
* Devise, co-ordinate and implement an innovative business plan
focusing on the coordination of a mobile unit (specialised adapted
van) which combines drugs, alcohol and sexual health services across
the Cork and Kerry region
* Carry out a mapping exercise of the current provision of Drugs,
Alcohol and Sexual Health services in the Cork and Kerry region and
identify gaps e.g. geographical, cost related, time etc.
* Draft memorandum of undertakings and other documentation which
will reflect the agreed working parameters of all partners involved in
this cross sectorial project
* Ensure relevant documentation, such as permits, are in place for
service delivery
* Undertake comprehensive risk assessments and ensure relevant
policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines are devised under the
guidance of the management team at the Sexual Health Centre and in
conjunction with Cork Local Drug and Alcohol Task Force
* Ensure a healthy and safe working environment for clients and
other staff
* Enable effective partnership with all agencies and stakeholders
involved with the delivery of the DASH Project
* Co-ordinate a suitable working schedule with partners to ensure
the smooth delivery of the project while maintaining client needs at
the forefront
* Scope out appropriate locations in the Cork and Kerry region for
the delivery of the new initiative while also identifying and
collaborating new client groups and partnerships within those
locations
* Work consistently with regional integrated care/case management
structures. These structures provide a continuum of care for service
users across all addiction and homeless services across Cork/Kerry
region.
* Proactively source opportunities to communicate and advertise the
project to drive overall stakeholder and client engagement
* Source and order appropriate information and materials for use
within the project
* Ensure equitable condom distribution across the Cork and Kerry
region with particular emphasis on the LGBTI+ community
* Ensure equitable access to information and resources as well as
one-to-one support services in the Cork and Kerry region with
particular emphasis on the LGBTI+ community
* Support the services being offered as part of the project, for
example, rapid HIV testing and drug and alcohol support sessions and
appropriate signposting
* Provide, where appropriate, brief intervention / motivational
interventions to clients in relation to their sexual health
* Implement a strategy of quality improvement to monitor the
project, ensuring client engagement and involvement is central to
service delivery encouraging feedback loops to enhance client
participation
* Create an awareness of the DASH project and the wider services of
the Sexual Health Centre and Cork Local Drug & Alcohol Task Force and
their services to relevant stakeholders, clients and service users
* Support the delivery of one-to-one interventions, drop-in
services, condom demonstrations, condom distribution and helpline
calls within the organisation
* Establish and maintain an excellent rapport with partners and
stakeholders
* Provide day-to-day office and administrative duties as required
* Monitor and evaluate work as required, keeping secure written and
statistical records of work undertaken and providing reports as
required
* Represent the Sexual Health Centre at events, conferences,
meetings etc. where required
* Achieve volume, activity and income targets as agreed with the
Centre Manager and in line with Service Level Agreements
* Ensure that Community Employment staff are supported in their
integration in the workplace and assist in their training and
development under the guidance of the Centre Manager
* Adhere to the goals and targets of the Strategic Plan for The
Sexual Health Centre
* Working with an established team, create an empowering,
non-judgemental, positive and welcoming atmosphere, emphasising
self-determination and assisting people to make plans and decisions in
relation to their sexual health, drug and alcohol use
* Deliver a service which is accessible and inclusive to all in line
with Sexual Health Centre Policies, Protocols, Procedures and
Guidelines
* Perform other duties commensurate with the nature of the post. It
is important that all members of staff be prepared to take on
additional duties or relinquish existing duties in order to maintain
efficient running of the organisation. All roles will develop and the
Sexual Health Centre may change the role scope in consultation with
the post holder
_EDUCATION / PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:_
* A relevant qualification in health promotion, social care,
community development or other relevant area (Level 7 NFQ, desirable)
* Excellent communication and project development skills, with the
ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
* Excellent IT skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Suitable experience in developing, evaluating and managing
projects
_REQUIREMENTS_
* A full clean driving licence is essential (regular B licence)
* Relevant experience in the area of sexual health and/or drugs and
alcohol
* An ability to work with people from a wide range of backgrounds in
a variety of settings
* The ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with
other organisations and individuals
* Flexible working style and the ability to respond effectively to
emerging/unexpected needs
* Innovative thinking and project planning is essential
_TERMS AND CONDITIONS_
SALARY: Salary will be commensurate with the experience of the
candidate.
CONTRACT: 6 month full time, fixed term contract
HOURS: Full time contract based on **Apply on the website** hours, 5
days per week, Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the post,
evening or weekend work may sometimes be required.

Health Centre.
